 ORBIT 12 inch sprinkler riser
$4 at Home depot. Works as well or better than fancy actuators.
Wooden frame built from scraps of wood laying around the garage. The neck is fashioned from 2 PVC caps bolted together with a fixed riser cut to length.

Bottom of riser with 12 volt air valve
The valve was left over from my attempts to fabricate a flame thrower exhaust for the chopper. My brother and I played with it until the valve broke. It was replaced with a 24 volt Toro sprinkler valve. 24 volt ac transformer from the electronic discount store cost $3.

 Rubber mask with glowing eyes
Really cool looking rubber mask from Big Lots - $5. 12 volt red lamps from Radio Shack - $2. Eye sockets were made from the ends of motorcycle grips.

Mask attached to garbage can lid
The mask was bolted between a PVC cap and the trash can lid.

 Final assembly

12 Inch Riser - $4
24 Volt Sprinkler Valve - $14
24 Volt Power Supply - $3
12 Volt Lamps - $2
12 Volt Power Supply - $3

Scaring the hell out of people - Priceless.

 Remote Control
Red button controls the air valve. Black button controls the sound effect (speaker attached to a CD in continuous play mode) An additional switch on the side (not shown) controls the eye lights.

The Horror

Monsters M1 and M2 both sustained life threatening injuries during the 2007 season.

Monsters barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild them. We have the technology. We have the capability to make them better, stronger, faster.
