Pickle Steak
Modified Version of Grannie's Recipe

Germans call it Rouladen. It's like they have a different word for everything.

Use thinly sliced round steak. Use the Milanesa cut if you can find it, slice your own, have the butcher do it, run over a big piece with the car to make it thin, etc. The size of each slice should generally be the size of MY hand :-)

One side of each slice gets a generous dose of black pepper and slathered with Grey Poupon mustard.

Roll up piece of meat with carrot, onion, and pickle slice. Secure the roll with a tooth pick.

Fry the rolls in a pan with oil until the outside is crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.

Place rolls in a roasting pan, cover with Beef Consume, and bake for 2 to 5 hours at 250 degrees.
